The Gems are Proud to Announce These Additions to Our Organization in 2025
Frank Ehrenfeld – Returning as Director of Recruiting
Active in fastpitch for over 20 years, Frank Ehrenfeld has been with the Pennsbury Gems organization since 2001. During that time, he has served as coach at all levels, Director of Instruction, Director of Pennsbury Gems and his current position – Director of Recruiting. Frank served on the NFCA Board of Directors from 2022-2024 and continues his NFCA responsibilities on committees and small administrative groups. In his current role, Ehrenfeld is the Gems’ representative at NFCA Camps and annual NFCA Coaches College while supporting the recruiting efforts for our student-athletes. Serving as Director of the Pennsbury Gems (2012-18), he served multiple terms as the Vice Commissioner of Softball for the Pennsbury Athletic Association.


Steph (Talerico) Horn – New Trainer
Coach Steph played NCAA Division I collegiate softball at the University at Albany. From 2008-2012, she was a slap-hitting outfielder and helped lead her team to an America East Conference Championship in 2011. From 2013-2014, she had the opportunity to serve as a Philadelphia Phillies Ball girl: as an ambassador, liaison, and role model for the community. Coach Steph brings over 20 years of softball experience and cutting-edge training techniques in slap-hitting, and other aspects of the game. Coach Steph is also a registered dietician and nutrition counselor.
Emma Konrad – Returning Trainer/Coach
Coach Emma is an assistant Coach for the DII Jefferson University Rams softball team. Emma hails from Indiana, where she played her travel softball for the Finesse BlackSwamp, an organization out of Toledo, Ohio. In high school Coach Emma set multiple records for HRs and RBIs, helping propel her softball career to the University of Depauw. Her career was shortened due to a knee injury that inspired her to pursue coaching and a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and a Masters degree in Nutrition and Dietetics.


Scott Molle – New Coach
Coach Scott started coaching travel / club softball with Langhorne Lightning at the 16U and 18U level. Scott has also coached High School softball for several years as an assistant on the Bensalem Owls staff, and is currently the head Coach for the Council Rock South Hawks. In his first year at CRS, the Hawks made it to the state finals and Coach Scott was named Philly Burbs Coach of the year. Scott has coached Council Rock South to Back to Back Patriot Division Champions as well as District and State qualifiers and a top 8 finisher in the State.
Ed Riley – New Coach
Ed Riley current assistant coach for the Council Rock South’s softball team Comes with 15 years of experience and having coached at every level of the sport from 6U up through 18U. As a Head Coach, he led his team to win Nationals in Connecticut, and was a key part in helping coach the 2024 6A State Championship Runner-Up and 2025 State playoff Council Rock South Golden Hawks.


Nikki (Michalowski) Thomson – Returning Trainer
Coach Nikki was named the 2022 NFCA Northern Region Travel Ball Coach of the Year by her national travel ball coaching peers. Before her tenure coaching the Pennsbury Gems 18U Black team, Coach Nikki was a sought after softball instructor in the Delaware Valley. Nikki played D1 softball at Hofstra University under Coach Larissa Anderson from 2014-2018. Her awards and Honors include Second-Team All Colonial Athletic Association, Third Team NFCA All-Northeast, and the CAA Commissioner’s Academic Award recipient. Coach Michalowski attended and played four years of varsity ball at Archbishop Ryan where she earned All-Catholic League Honors.
Andy Waskie – New Coach
Andy Waskie is a current assistant coach for the Jefferson University Rams softball team and former travel director for the Langhorne lightning with over 13 years’ experience and having coached at every level of the sport from 6U up through 18U Gold. As a Head Coach, teams have won the NSA Nationals Tournament in Owensboro, KY, the USSSA Southeast Nationals in Nashville, TN, and have finished in the top 10 in every National Tournament event they have played in since 2018.
Andy also was an Assistant Coach for the 2024 6A State Championship Runner-Up Council Rock South Golden Hawks. Andy coordinated the pitching game and was responsible for implementing practice plans throughout the entire season.


Erica (Cipolloni) Woodard – Returning Coach/Trainer
Erica, Head Coach of the prestigious Shipley High School, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience as a player, instructor, coach, and leader in the softball community. Best known as “Coach E”, Erica has been instructing and developing players for over 10 years, including many of those years coaching elite club softball teams. She has spent the last decade sharing extensive game knowledge, college recruitment guidance, and mentorship for aspiring athletes looking to play at the highest levels. Coach E attended Nazareth Academy where her number was retired in 2010 and where she was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 2022. In 2010 she was named female athlete of the year by the Philadelphia Inquirer and was 1 of 42 players selected to tryout for the USA Softball Junior women’s National team in Chula Vista, CA. Erica earned a full athletic scholarship to the University of Virginia.
